A little about me

I spent much of my professional life working in medicine and global public health, including many years with the World Health Organization. That work took me to different parts of the world and gave me an enduring interest in science, people and places. Although retired from full-time work, I remain involved in global health, particularly in efforts to eliminate neglected tropical diseases.

Photography, however, has been a companion for more than fifty years. Along the way, other interests have accumulated — astronomy, technology, travel, model railways and, increasingly, the pleasure of making and building things.

Retirement has given me something particularly valuable: time to explore these interests more deeply, learn new things and occasionally share what I discover. This website is a home for some of that journey — with curiosity as the common thread.
